MAIN FESTIVALS
Mainly two festivals are cleberated here, one in the month of Edavam and the other in Karkkadakam. The first one usually falls during the first week of June. Rituals such as Sarppa Bali, Aaslesha Bali, Naga Mandala Pooja, Nagar OottuAbhishekas, Homas etc., culminate in the Kalamezhuthu and SarppamPattu on the seventh day. And the devotees leave the temple with the satisfaction of having had Nagadarshana.
The second festival falls on the days of Nagapanchami in the month of Karkkadaka. These days are observed piously offering Ashtabhisheka, Navakabhisheka, Kalabhabhisheka, Manjal- KumkumaAbhisheka etc. It culminates inSarppa Bali.

SARPPA BALI
This is ritual observed according to the Dravida Achara. Sarpaa Bali is usually offered for clearing the hazards in wed-lock or to rectify the curses of the Serpent God which results in lack of progeny, diseases to the children, all sorts of skin diseases, and in saving to save one from the misfortune of KalasarppaDosha caused by the adverse planetary position of Rahu and Kethu.
SPECIAL FEATURES OF SARPPA BALI
Sarppa Bali Pooja is performed on a huge square diagram drawn on the floor consisting of 64 tiny square – segments. The Havissu (Offerings) alone goes up to a quantum of three huge Measures.
It is mandatory for those who are involved in this Pooja, to observe severe penance for seven days.
The main ritual in Sarppa Bali is NaagarOottu done by offering NoorumPalum (Turmeric and Milk) to Anantha the Serpeant God.
Sarppa Bali, Aaslesha Bali, Naga Mandala Pooja etc., are some of the most effective Poojas performed for rectifying the difficulties in getting good wedding and begetting good children.
